Suehiro Debado Stone 6 "X 1"

I prefer to not space out my stone progressions more than 1000 grit. Jumping to a 2 or 3 thousand finer stone just means you spend a lot of time trying to erase scratches from previous stones. At the higher grit levels, it means you are just polishing scratches and removing very little from the coarser stones. Such was the reason for the Suehiro 6 k stone. I was jumping from a Shapton Pro 5k to a Shapton Pro 8k. I was spending an inordinate amount of time with the 8k. The Suehiro 6k uses the same binder as the Shapton stone, so it acts like a Shapton (a little harder I think). With the addition of this stone and a natural Arkansas stone, I can efficiently and quickly move to a refined and polished edge. This is especially helpful on high carbon steel knives and EDC’s. Everyone wants a mirror edge on their EDC it seems.
